The author : Laelius Peregrinus, Lelio Pellegrini (Sonnino, 1551 - Rome, 1602) was an Italian writer and philosopher. Born in Sonnino, then a fief of the Colonna, he was professor of moral philosophy at "Studio della Sapienza" in Rome. He was faithful to the philosophy of Aristotle. Although Aristotle advises against the study of ethics, Peregrini, on the contrary, believes that young people, still immature for a correct understanding of moral principles, must study ethics even before that of the philosophy of nature, so that young people can face scientific studies with heart free from passions.
