Binding: Attractive and good to very good Victorian decorated full-cloth binding (hinges fine, overall worn and scuffed - as shown, corners worn - as shown) under a protective removable mylar cover. All edges gilt. A rare find in any condition!
Content: Good content (bright and tight, foxing throughout - as shown, illustration facing page 67 very worn and with margins cut short - as shown, last endpaper inner hinge worn but still tight - as shown). 
Illustrations: Complete with the beautiful 24 hand-colored illustrations by Birket Foster.

The book: Rare and very attractive FIRST edition of this book on Common Wayside Flowers wonderfully illustrated by Birket Foster. Scarce in his original publisher binding!

The illustrator: Myles Birket Foster RWS (4 February 1825 – 27 March 1899) was a British illustrator, watercolorist and engraver in the Victorian period. His name is also to be found as Myles Birkett Foster.
