Binding: Attractive and good original Victorian decorated hardcover binding (overall worn and scuffed, creased to the rear cover - as shown, the right flap hinge has been repaired by a previous owner - as shown, flaps hinges worn but still attached - as shown) under a protective removable mylar cover. A rare find in any condition!
Content: Good to very good content (bright, tight and clean, some very small chips to some page corners - as shown).

The book: Scarce and attractive Pantomime toy children’s book by McLoughlin telling the age-old tale Cinderella in a slightly different fashion – through the eyes of a theatergoer viewing a stage production! As the reader turns the pages, theatergoers in their boxes can be seen on additional flaps on the sides of the book. McLoughlin published at least two other stories in this format: Beauty and the Beast and Little Red Riding Hood. These theater-shaped books were patented by McLoughlin in 1891 and are known as the “proscenium format.”
The chromolithographs found throughout the book are beautiful!
