The book: Rare and nice 17th-century edition of this book by the Jesuit Jeremias Drexel. The original edition is from 1637. Drexel urges the German princes to continue the Protestant persecutions following the Battle of the White Mountain which was an important battle in the early stages of the Thirty Years' War.
The author: Jeremias Drexel S.J. (also known as Hieremias Drexelius or Drechsel) (August 15, 1581 – 19 April 1638) was a Jesuit writer of devotional literature and a professor of the humanities and rhetoric. He served for 23 years as court preacher in Munich to Maximilian I, Elector of Bavaria and his wife Elizabeth of Lorraine.
