The book :  Rare and very nice 17th century edition of the Latin translation of Bacon's essays. It was first published in 1641, and this second edition has been completely reset. The text here consists of 62 essays.

The author :  Francis Bacon, 1st Viscount St Alban,(22 January 1561 – 9 April 1626) was an English philosopher and statesman who served as Attorney General and as Lord Chancellor of England. His works are credited with developing the scientific method and remained influential through the scientific revolution.
