The author:   Alfred Lord Tennyson (6 August 1809 – 6 October 1892) was a British poet. He was the Poet Laureate during much of Queen Victoria's reign and remains one of the most popular British poets. His work includes 'In Memoriam A.H.H.', 'The Charge of the Light Brigade', and 'Ulysses', among others.

The illustrator: Alberto Sangorski (1862–1932) was a skilled calligrapher and illuminator known for his work in manuscripts and miniatures. His designs often included detailed and extravagant border decorations, initials, and miniature paintings, which can be seen in the illumination of this work.
