Binding: Attractive and very good publisher’s original bright red cloth binding lettered and decorated in black on the front cover and spine, with a charming mounted color illustration of Peter Rabbit walking along a country path (hinges fine, overall slightly worn and scuffed - as shown). The book retains its scarce original illustrated dust jacket, also in very good condition (with some light edge wear and minor rubbing - as shown) under a protective removable mylar cover.
Content: Very good content (bright, tight and clean, rare light foxing mainly on the title page - as shown). Interior clean and well preserved. The charming illustrated ownership page (“This Book Belongs To”) contains a small neat inscription. A very attractive example.
Illustrations: Illustrated throughout with 29 charming color illustrations, depicting the mischievous adventures of Peter Rabbit and his woodland companions. The illustrations are lively and expressive, rendered in bright early twentieth-century color printing typical of Platt & Munk children's books. Complete.
