The book: A desirable First U.S. edition of Winnie-the-Pooh, published the same year as the British First edition. This enchanting collection of short stories features the beloved characters of Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Christopher Robin in their adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood. A foundational work of 20th-century children’s literature and a perennial favorite among collectors.

The author: Alan Alexander Milne (1882–1956) was an English author and playwright best known for his creation of Winnie-the-Pooh. Though he wrote extensively for adults, it was his children’s books that brought him enduring fame, originally inspired by his son, Christopher Robin Milne.

The illustrator: Ernest H. Shepard (1879–1976) was a distinguished English artist and book illustrator. His pen-and-ink drawings for Winnie-the-Pooh and The Wind in the Willows became some of the most iconic and beloved in children’s literature, capturing the warmth and whimsy of Milne’s stories with timeless charm.
