A wonderfully preserved and visually striking mid-20th-century edition of The Complete Book of Fortune, an encyclopedic compendium of occult sciences, fortune-telling, and mystic traditions. First published by Associated Newspapers in the interwar years and continuously reprinted, this edition (circa 1940) captures the era’s fascination with astrology, dream interpretation, palmistry, phrenology, graphology, numerology, and divination by cards, tea leaves, dice, and crystals.

Divided into two major parts — Fortune-Telling and Character Reading and The Mystic Meanings of Things — the volume covers:

Playing cards and domino divination
Crystal-gazing and the dream oraculum
Napoleonic “Book of Fate”
The science of numbers, physiognomy, and the reading of the hand
Omens, oracles, and popular superstitions
Talismans, amulets, and the mystical meanings of Christian names
A publisher’s note at the front reminds readers: “You, yourself, are the Master of your Destiny.”

An iconic reference from Britain’s golden age of printed esoterica, The Complete Book of Fortune remains one of the most comprehensive occult manuals of its time — a striking combination of mysticism, psychology, and early 20th-century design.
