The book: Splendid edition of SELECT FABLES OF AESOP AND OTHER FABULISTS, masterfully compiled by Robert Dodsley. This collection, with its intricate illustrations and intricate leather binding, represents a true treasure of the classical world of fables, teaching timeless lessons about human nature and morality.

The author: Aesop was an ancient Greek fabulist or storyteller credited with a number of fables now collectively known as Aesop's Fables. Although his existence remains uncertain and (if they ever existed) no writings by him survive, numerous tales credited to him were gathered across the centuries and in many languages. Robert Dodsley (1703 – 1764) was an English bookseller, poet, playwright, and miscellaneous writer. He made a significant contribution to English literature by collecting these fables and popularizing them in the 18th century.
