Binding: Attractive and very good, near fine binding beautifully bound in full green morocco leather with elaborate gilt decoration on covers and spine, raised bands, and intricate gilt tooling. Gilt dentelles on the inner board edges (hinges fine, overall slightly worn and scuffed - as shown) under a protective removable mylar cover. All edges gilt. A stunning example of fine 19th-century bookbinding.
Content: Good to very good content (bright, tight, come light foxing or staining mainly on preliminary and last pages - as shown, name of a previous 1878 owner on the second blank page - as shown).
