The book: Scarce and attractive French 19th-century captivating narrative following the adventures of Paul, who is whisked away by a balloon. This edition, from the late 19th century, offers readers a glimpse into the whimsical world of ballooning, a popular fascination of the era.

The illustrator: Jules Marie Désandré was born in Paris. A pupil of Girardet, he started at the Salon in 1869. He painted mainly sites in Brittany and genre scenes.
