The book: Very nice edition of David Copperfield. Published by Chapman and Hall limited with no date. Preface dated 1850 as shown. Later issue with, interestingly, the following first edition points: 1. Chapter 27 starts on page 282 rather than on p.283 as stated on the contents page. 2. Page 16 line 1 and p225 line 22 there is 'recal' for recall. 3. Page 387, 6 lines from the bottom, there is 'coroboration' . 4. Page 472, 13 lines from the bottom, there are no closing quotation marks. A very nice edition of Dicken's classic.

The illustrator: Hablot Knight Browne (10 July 1815 – 8 July 1882) was an English artist and illustrator. Well-known by his pen name, Phiz, he illustrated books by Charles Dickens, Charles Lever, and Harrison Ainsworth.
