Binding: Attractive and very good Victorian full-cloth binding with intricate gilt and color decorations on the front cover and spine. The cover features detailed embossing, gilt titles, and a central medallion with angelic imagery in red and gold. The rear cover has blind-stamped decorations. (hinges fine, overall slightly scuffed and worn - as shown) under a protective removable mylar cover. All edges are gilt.
Content: Very good content (bright, tight, and clean, some light foxing - as shown, inner hinges of endpapers worn but still tight - as shown, nice 1883 gift note at the back of the title page "Christ John Walker. Wishing him many happy returns, March 31st, 1883, From his loving brother, on his 17th Birthday" - as shown). 
Illustrations: Complete with the four beautiful full-page engravings in total.
