The author: Johan Herman Hofberg, born June 11, 1823 in Stora Malms parish in Södermanland, died April 28, 1883 in Stockholm, was a Swedish scientist, writer and cartoonist. Married in 1853 to Augusta Matilda von Knorring. He was the son of Jan Petter Hofberg and Agnes Strand.
