The book: Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book is a beloved collection of tales originally published in 1894, which capture the adventures of Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. Through engaging stories and captivating illustrations, Kipling introduces readers to a world where animals possess wisdom and lessons that speak to human nature. Kipling’s narrative weaves together themes of survival, friendship, and the moral complexities of the jungle law. This edition, published by Macmillan in 1895, holds a special place in literary history, being part of Kipling’s body of work that earned him the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907.
