Content: Good content (bright, tight, some foxing mainly on text pages leaving the illustrations bright and clean - as shown, gift note of a previous 1910 owner on the first endpaper - as shown, toning of endpaper - as shown). 
Illustrations: Complete with the 12 wonderful color plates, illustrations in text, and pictorial endpapers, all by Millicent Sowerby.

The book: Scarce and attractive First edition of the Sowerby Sisters' Yesterday's Children. A rare find in any condition!

The author: Katherine Githa Sowerby (6 October 1876 – 30 June 1970), also known under her pen name K. G. Sowerby, was an English playwright, children's writer, and member of the Fabian Society. A feminist, she was well-known during the early twentieth century for her 1912 hit play Rutherford & Son, but lapsed into obscurity in later decades.

The illustrator: Amy Millicent Sowerby (1878–1967) was an English painter and illustrator, known for her illustrations of classic children's stories such as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and A Child's Garden of Verses, her postcards featuring children, nursery rhymes, and Shakespeare scenes, and children's books created with her sister Githa Sowerby.
