The Author: Hans Christian Andersen often referred to in Scandinavia as H. C. Andersen (2 April 1805 – 4 August 1875), was a Danish author. Andersen's popularity is not limited to children: his stories express themes that transcend age and nationality.
The Illustrator: William Heath Robinson (31 May 1872 – 13 September 1944) was an English cartoonist, illustrator and artist, best known for drawings of whimsically elaborate machines to achieve simple objectives.
