Binding: Very good and attractive decorated original full cloth binding (hinges fine, overall slightly worn, small stain near the middle of the front hinge - as shown) under a protective removable mylar cover.
Content: Very good content (tight and clean, some light foxing and toning of some pages - as shown, bottom outer margin of the first plate worn with a small tear not affecting the illustration - as shown, scarce ex libris of Brussell Artist -- Hubert Georges Desired Dupond - born in Antwerp in 1901 and died eight decades later in 1982. He studied with the artist Jean Delville and Emile Fabry at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and later taught advertising technique. In his later life, he dedicated himself to his art. He collected prints and maintained a large library of books on the subject, which likely held the aforementioned volume).
Illustrations: Complete with the nine wonderful full-page color plates and many black and white drawings within the text by Maurice Lalau.

The author: Charles Louis Robert-Dumas, born January 4, 1875 in Paris and died August 19, 1946 in Reims, is a French writer.
He is the author of children's stories and detective and spy novels.
He published mainly under his name but also under the pseudonyms of Jean Mayeux and Charles Darelles.
