Binding: Attractive, exquisite, and near fine full morocco leather binding finely bound by Bayntun of Bath for Charles E. Lauriat Company in Boston. The spines feature raised bands, gilt titles, and intricate gilt tooling. The covers are adorned with a striking geometric gilt design, framed within a double gilt fillet border. The inner dentelles are elaborately gilt, with moiré silk endpapers and all edges gilt. The binding is signed by the binder. (hinges fine) under a protective removable mylar cover. All edges are gilt.
Content: Very good content (bright, tight, and clean, first free moiré silk endpaper outer edges slightly worn - as shown).
Illustrations: Complete with the two frontispiece portraits.
