The book: First published in 1921 as part of The All About Series, Peter Rabbit in Mother Goose Land blends the mischief of Peter Rabbit with the timeless characters of Mother Goose. This small-format, clothbound edition is delightfully appealing and made to endure children’s handling, featuring reinforced binding and vivid artwork. The presence of the original dust jacket — often lost — significantly enhances its desirability. A lovely example of early 20th-century American children’s publishing.

The author: Alma Hudson wrote several titles in Cupples & Leon’s popular children's series. Her storytelling style captures the gentle moral tone and imaginative spirit characteristic of early American juvenile fiction. Her contribution to bringing Peter Rabbit into crossover nursery-rhyme adventures was an inventive expansion of a character beloved by generations.

The illustrator: Richard Hudson created the warm, expressive illustrations that define this edition. His artwork brings personality and movement to Peter Rabbit, Mother Goose, and their whimsical world. Hudson contributed several titles to The All About Series, known for their charming color plates and clean, engaging line drawings — a style that resonates strongly with collectors of early children’s illustration.
