Binding: Attractive and very good original publisher's green cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine and the original color pictorial paper onlay to the front board depicting Heidi and her companions. Binding remains remarkably fresh and well preserved with only light signs of age and handling (hinges fine, binding sound and attractive) under a removable protective mylar cover.
Content: Very good content. Pages are clean, bright, and firmly bound with only light age toning and occasional minor spotting as expected. A well-preserved copy of this beloved children's classic. One color plate near the end of the volume exhibits a neat fold. This fold appears to be a publisher's production flaw rather than later damage, as the illustration aligns perfectly with the text block when folded as issued; when unfolded, the plate projects beyond the edge of the text block. This is therefore considered an original manufacturing characteristic of the book rather than a defect acquired through use.
Illustrations: Complete with all 8 beautiful full-page color illustrations by Anne Anderson, including the frontispiece. All plates present and in very good condition.
Estimate: (USD 150–200).
