Binding: Attractive and near fine original; publisher's Deluxe binding in full blue morocco leather with gilt titles and decoration to spine, decorative gilt rule to boards with gilt-stamped illustration to center of front cover (hinges fine, gilt decoration very bright) under a protective removable mylar cover. All edges gilt. - A rare find for this blue variant of the deluxe edition in such a nice condition! The print run was 3,000 copies divided into three colors of the leather binding: red, green, and blue. This is the blue leather variant. One of 1,000 copies, of which perhaps a handful exist in this beautiful near-fine condition! 
Content: Very good content (bright and tight, nice small bookplate of a previous owner (Desmond Bailey) on the first endpaper - as shown, rare light staining - as shown).
Illustrations: Complete with all the beautiful illustrations by Ernest H. Shepard.

The book: Rare and attractive First Deluxe edition in full blue morocco leather decorated in gilt of Now We Are Six -- a book of thirty-five children's verses by A. A. Milne, with illustrations by E. H. Shepard. It was first published in 1927 including poems such as "King John's Christmas", "Binker" and "Pinkle Purr". Eleven of the poems in the collection are accompanied by illustrations featuring Winnie-the-Pooh.

The author: Alan Alexander Milne (18 January 1882 – 31 January 1956) was an English author best known for his books about the teddy bear Winnie-the-Pooh and for various children's poems. Milne was a noted writer, primarily as a playwright, before the huge success of Pooh overshadowed all his previous work.
