The book: A rare and beautifully illustrated First UK Edition of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, produced as an officially authorized adaptation of Walt Disney’s groundbreaking 1937 animated feature film — the first full-length cel-animated feature in motion picture history. This edition captures the spirit and charm of the film, offering a faithful retelling accompanied by stunning visuals directly drawn from the animation. A collector’s treasure in exceptional condition, especially with its original dust jacket.
The author: This version of Snow White is based on the Brothers Grimm's 19th-century fairy tale, adapted here to align with Walt Disney’s interpretation. The story was simplified and softened from the darker folk origins to suit family audiences in the emerging era of animated cinema.
The illustrators: The illustrations are taken from the original production artwork created by Disney Studio artists under the direction of Walt Disney. These visuals defined a new aesthetic in animation and remain iconic in the history of illustration and film. The expressive characters, lush settings, and vivid palette all exemplify the high artistic standards set by Disney’s early animators.
