Binding: Very good original tan cloth binding with brown lettering and an illustration of a log cabin scene on the front cover. Spine titled in brown ((hinges fine, overall slightly worn and scuffed - as shown) with the rare original dust jacket in poor condition (spine part missing - as shown, tears and chips - as shown) under a protective removable mylar cover. 
Content: Very good content (bright, tight and clean, rare light foxing or staining - as shown).
Illustrations: Beautifully illustrated by Helen Sewell, with delicate black-and-white line drawings and a beautiful color frontispiece that bring the frontier life to life.
